Celebrating the 2026 AI-HUB@LMU Prize Winner: Evelina Griniute

We are proud to announce Evelina Griniute (Faculty of Economics) as recipient of the AI-HUB@LMU Prize for the Most Innovative AI-based Research Project, for her project “GenAI in Knowledge Work: Experimental Evidence from Uganda“

The Jury remarked: "The research project provides causal evidence on how Generative AI reshapes not only productivity but the social fabric of organizations, through a randomized controlled trial which accompanies the rollout of a custom GenAI assistant in one of East Africa's largest commercial banks. It stands out for its rigorous experimental design, its exceptional depth of administrative, usage, and network data, and its pioneering focus on a world region largely absent from existing evidence on AI in the workplace."

Congratulations!

Join us in celebrating all prize winners at the AI-HUB@LMU KI-Symposium 2026 on 09 November 2026.

Our thanks go to the Münchener Universitätsgesellschaft for their support in endowing this prize and to the interdisciplinary review panel for their careful evaluation of all submissions.
