Obituary for Gerlinde Sinn

We mourn the loss of our board member, Gerlinde Sinn.
Born on May 8, 1949, and passed away on November 11, 2023.

Gerlinde Sinn passionately dedicated herself to our association since its founding in 1994. Starting in 2000, she made invaluable contributions as the Deputy Chairperson of the Board, which were crucial to the success and visibility of the association.

She was particularly committed to securing funding for a Germany Scholarship through VAC. Her primary concern was supporting students who not only demonstrated outstanding academic achievements but were also socially and civically engaged. Another cause close to Gerlinde Sinn’s heart was the initiation of career information evenings, now known as "Karrieregespräche," which bring together students and companies.

In addition, she was a key organizer of the VAC Continuing Education Lecture Series. Through this series, VAC invited its members and other interested individuals to attend lectures given by speakers from the Economics Faculty of LMU, as well as from other universities, state institutions, or the private sector.

The long-standing expert and personal exchange with Gerlinde Sinn was of great importance to all of us. We will deeply miss her joyful presence and helpful nature. Our thoughts are with Hans-Werner Sinn and his family.
