Emergency numbers can always be reached from mobile phones without prefixes, and even without credit on a prepaid card. The emergency number may only be dialled in actual emergency situations.
When making an emergency call, try to stay calm and speak slowly and clearly so you can be easily understood and keep your answers brief and concise.
Please remember the 6 W’s, so responders get the right information quickly:
Do not hang up before the emergency/rescue coordinator or police end the call. They will end the call once all essential information has been received.
Then keep the line open so that they can contact you if they have any further questions. Do not use your phone for other calls.
