Based on the 2022 Global Nutrition Report, "we are living through a global nutrition crisis. Poor diets and malnutrition are among the greatest societal challenges of our time, impacting our health, our economies, and our environment.” This unique course, offered by the CIH-LMU Center for International Health, focuses on the global connections between social, cultural and environmental aspects of food and nutrition, its impact on health, global and local strategies to address malnutrition, and ideas for change.

- Overview of global nutrition. Overview of the global nutrition situation in the context of other critical issues of common concern: food supply, poverty, population growth, water, other environmental issues, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Health and nutrition. Discussion of key nutritional issues of global importance, their effect on health and approaches to address them.
- Global and local strategies to address malnutrition. Insights into global and local strategies to address food and nutrition challenges in light of SDG2 “Zero Hunger” and SDG3 “Good health and Well-being”.
