This event, hosted in collaboration with Palacký University Olomouc and the University of Jyväskylä, aims to foster collaboration and share best practices in supporting the integration of international students as well as allowing university staff to build skills in cultural awareness and multicultural communication.

• A five-day training program for higher education professionals welcoming international students and staff
• A comprehensive agenda including interactive workshops, social and cultural activities, and networking opportunities
• A chance to share best practices with internationalisation experts

When: 7 - 9 October, 2026

The theme is Sustainable Partnerships and Responsible Internationalisation: Decision Making and Information Sharing. Focus will be on various factors that contribute to openness in research and cooperation, practical guidance, decision making and awareness in collaboration.

We invite staff from international offices as well as administrative staff dealing with international cooperation in general.

The programme will include keynote presentations and group discussions. Participation fee is € 190 for the full programme. The fee includes a welcome reception, two lunches, a dinner at a downtown Reykjavik restaurant and an excursion. Please note that participants are responsible for covering their own accommodation and travel costs.

Visit KU Leuven during the International Staff Week and build your international network whilst exploring some of the most beautiful towns in Belgium.

During these 4 days you will explore 'The role of international educators & advisors in a rapidly changing world.' How are global shifts - from the rise of generative AI to the growing importance of intercultural competencies - reshaping our work?

The KU Leuven staff week is based in the city of Leuven, but includes a visit to Brussel and a full-day trip to either Antwerp or Ghent. This allows visitors to explore different campuses and neighbouring cities. Enjoy a special visit to the European parliament for a keynote on the future of European higher education.

The staff week includes several networking activities, a walking dinner, guided tours and the opportunity to promote your insitituion at our Go Global/study abroad fair on Thursday evening 29/10.
