Project description

The objective of the PhD thesis is to develop advanced spatial and spatio-temporal models and maps for ultrafine particles (particulate matter < 100 nm; UFP) by applying emerging machine learning and data science approaches. A further objective of the PhD thesis will be the quantification of the effect of UFP exposures on selected cardio-metabolic markers and diseases in participants of the Bavarian study centers of the German national cohort (NAKO) study. The PhD thesis will thereby contribute to the larger research topic “Environment and Health”.
