The Munich Center of the Learning Sciences, Faculty of Psychology and Education at LMU Munich (Prof. Dr. Anne Frenzel) has a vacancy for a half-time position (50%) starting on October 1, 2022 (possibly earlier) as a Research Associate (with remuneration of pay group 13 TV-L) in a temporary employment relationship. The position is initially to be filled for a period of three years. Subject to the availability of budgetary funds, there is the possibility of continued employment for a further year.

Tasks and responsibilities

The job involves coordinating the interdisciplinary Study Programs “M.Sc. Psychology: Learning Sciences” and the “Doctoral Training Program in the Learning Sciences”.

Job activities include course management and planning, advising and mentoring especially international students and program faculty, preparing and conducting the application process, coordinating various committees, and conceptual development of the program. Teaching responsibilities of 2 weekly teaching hours per year are associated with the position.


  • We are looking for applicants with:
  • completed studies (at least M.A./M.Sc.), preferably in the field of psychology/pedagogy/ education
  • excellent command of written and oral German and English
  • confident handling of common computer programs, database systems and internet services
  • highly independent and structured working style
  • strong organizational skills
  • experience in the area of students counseling & support
  • first experiences in the field of university administration
  • Interest in scientific qualification in the field of motivation and emotion of teachers and learners.
