Tasks and responsibilities
We are currently seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on projects related to platelet-mediated signaling in tumor cell invasion and metastasis. The aim of the project is to identify the role of blood platelets in their diverse signaling pathways, which regulate cancer and immune cell function during cancer progression and metastatic cascade. The perspectives of this project are to understand the mechanisms of hematogenous dissemination of tumor cells and to develop new anti-cancer therapies. For the study of regulatory mechanisms, our project team applies a wide range of biological tools, including mouse models of carcinogenesis and tumor metastasis, chemical inhibitors and antibodies and cutting-edge 3D cell culture methods. We are also exploring cellular and biochemical markers in biopsies of cancer patients and integrating bioinformatic studies and computational modeling.
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
Excellent command of the English language is highly recommended.
