The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of AI-based Therapy Steering in Personalized Oncology commencing as soon as possible.
The professorship will be located at the center for artificial intelligence of the University Hospital of LMU Munich.
The professor is expected to develop AI-based therapy guidance as an innovative area within modern hematology and oncology. The candidate is expected to bring expertise in the development of predictive and prognostic algorithms in order to develop strategies to predict likelihood of response, resistance and relapse. With respect to networking a close collaboration with the W3-Professorship for AI based therapeutic decisions, the oncological subspecialities, Institute of Pathology and the clinical precision oncology program of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Munich (CCCM), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) and the Bavarian Center for Cancer Research (BZKF) will be essential.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages earlycareer scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree and a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.
The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
