The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of Angiology commencing on April 1st, 2022.

The professorship will be located at the Medical Clinic and Policlinic IV, University Hospital of LMU Munich. The professorship covers the entire spectrum of the field of Angiology in research and medical education and comprises the clinical position as head of the Section of Angiology within the Medical Clinic and Policlinic IV. Applicants should have a renowned scientific profile focusing on clinical and/or translational and health care research in Vascular Medicine. Special experiences in the endovascular treatment of vascular diseases, in the management of venous thromboembolism and large vessel vasculitis, and competence in diagnostic and non-invasive management of aortic vascular diseases are welcome. Close cooperation with the other clinics and institutes is required, especially with the partners of the interdisciplinary vascular center.

LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages earlycareer scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and a board certification in Internal Medicine and Angiology. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.

The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
