At the German Neuroinformatics Node (G-Node, http://www.g-node.org), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, a full-time position is available for the development of solutions for research data management in neuroscience. Variety and complexity of research data in this field bring the challenge of large-scale data access, consistent storage and efficient data analysis. G-Node is providing a data management platform for version control, collaborative sharing and publishing of research data (https://gin.g-node.org). We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of this and other G-Node tools and services (https://g-node.github.io), working closely with other neuroinformatics initiatives and neuroscience laboratories.
Candidates should have excellent programming skills, preferably in Python, Go and other languages such as C++ or Java, experience in DevOps practices, and a strong interest in the development of open-source solutions for neuroscience. Expertise in any area of relevance, such as web development, databases, scientific software and analysis, experimental or computational neuroscience, would be beneficial.
The position is available immediately, for one year initially with possibility of extension. Salary is according to TV-L. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications by women are specifically encouraged.
Also possible in a part-time capacity.
People with disabilities who are equally as qualified as other applicants will receive preferential treatment.
Applications should include CV, statement of experience and motivation, code examples, and contact details for references. Informal inquiries prior to application are welcome. Applications should be sent, preferably as single pdf file by email to Prof. Thomas Wachtler: email@example.com
