The new Campus of the College of Veterinary Medicine of the LMU Munich is located in Oberschleißheim in the northern outskirt of Munich with its intriguing cultural avenues. Munich is very close to the German Alps as well as to several beautiful lakes, and the region provides easy access to numerous outdoor activities including hiking, biking, climbing and skiing.

Tasks and responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include clinical service, teaching and research in the Equine Clinic. Teaching responsibilities involve didactic teaching and clinical training of professional students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Service responsibilities involve clinical case management, participation in a 24/7 emergency service, and consultation with private practitioners. Contribution to the continuing education program of the teaching hospital is expected as well as strong commitment to perform on high standards of evidence-based medicine. External grant acquisition and supervision of graduate students are encouraged and supported.

Requirements

Candidates must have a veterinary degree. Diplomate status in the European or American College of Veterinary Surgery is required, but residency-trained individuals eligible for final certification examination will also be considered. Knowledge in German language is not necessarily required but candidates should be willing to learn German within a reasonable time.
