CAS: Scientific background on emissions and carbon dioxide removal

Opening hours / Beginning:

3:00 pm - 5:15 pm

12 November 2021

The current climate crisis requires to identify new directions of research and political actions. Not only is a closed carbon cycle necessary, but also means to reduce CO2 directly. However, the risks of carbon capture technologies are far away from being calculable. In this workshop, nanoscientists will discuss carbon dioxide removal options with geoscientists.

Conduct: Prof. Dr. Dieter Braun (LMU) and Prof. Dr. Julia Pongratz (LMU)

The event takes place in cooperation with the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) at LMU.

The event will be streamed in English. Prior registration by email is required. For further information, see the CAS website.

The Center for Advanced Studies at LMU provides a forum for scientific exchange and discussion that bridges the divide between the established disciplines. Its activities are designed to promote all forms of collaborative research and to stimulate interdisciplinary communication within the University. In addition, it facilitates the integration of visiting scholars and scientists into the academic life of the University.
