The Art of Storytelling and Historical Narratives – a conversation with David Grossman

Opening hours / Beginning:

Thu:
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

7 October 2021

David Grossman is not only one of Israel’s most important authors, in his writings and in many public addresses, he has consistently argued for a political settlement between Israelis and Palestinians. During the war in Lebanon in 2006, he issued an appeal for an end to the hostilities – only days before his son Uri was killed in the fighting in South Lebanon. Grossman has received many accolades for his work, including the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade (Friedenspreis des deutschen Buchhandels) and the Israel Prize. In his conversation with Michael Brenner and Birgit Schäbler, he will reflect on the links between the writing of history and the art of storytelling.

Owing to the pandemic, this year’s event will be held in digital form on a dedicated Conference Platform. Unless otherwise indicated in the Program on the Conference's website, the presentations will be made available on the digital Conference Platform.

For access to the Conferece Platform, a valid ticket is required, which may be booked via Registration, where further information on the various ticket categories can also be found.
