The GIST Hub, led by Prof. Johannes Glückler (LMU), held its first International Conference in Munich, bringing together researchers from LMU Munich and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) to strengthen German-Chilean collaboration on sustainability governance and innovation.
Over two days, participants explored key topics including climate governance, green innovation, water security, critical minerals, carbon dioxide removal, and socio-ecological transitions. Junior researchers also presented projects on Indigenous institutions and green hydrogen development in Patagonia. Interactive sessions provided space to exchange ideas and identify opportunities for future joint research.
Building on previous GIST Hub activities in Santiago, the conference further strengthened the Hub as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and long-term research collaboration between LMU and UC.
