The Network

The network serves as a platform for scholarly exchange between our university and Latin America.

Latin America Network at LMU

The LMU–Latin America Network, established in 2018, is an institutionally supported initiative dedicated to deepening collaboration and strategic exchange with partners across the region. It advances cooperation between LMU and Latin American institutions, strengthens interdisciplinary dialogue, and supports the development of innovative joint projects. This closely connected and dynamic scholarly community engages with regional and global challenges while reinforcing the university’s position as a leading actor in the international academic landscape. At the same time, the network promotes dialogue with broader publics, facilitates knowledge transfer, and fosters academic mobility.

Mission

Our mission is to strengthen Latin American research, foster connections within the field, and highlight its relevance to contemporary societies by:

  • developing and promoting collaborative Latin American research
  • increasing the visibility of ongoing projects
  • providing impetus for new projects and interdisciplinary exchange
  • fostering dialogue between researchers and wider publics
