Do you use multimedia presentations in your classes, but haven't really focused on design aspects yet?

Would you like to create visually appealing presentations to keep your students more attentive and motivated?

The eye is the most important channel of perception for humans when it comes to absorbing information. That's why the slides we use to support our presentations are so important.

In this seminar, you will get to know seven basic principles of slide design that will help you create effective multimedia presentations.

Key objective:

The blended learning seminar aims to enable participants to design visually appealing courses and thus promote better retention among the students.

Learning targets:

The participants will be able to...

  • Understand the importance of visual communication.
  • Identify and implement the basic principles of slide design.
  • Create their own slides using the techniques and methods they have learned and present them to the whole group.

Preparations:

In an asynchronous phase, you will create your own slides. To do this, it is helpful to have a presentation software at hand, as well as a presentation that has already been prepared in terms of content.

Trainer information:

Katharina Six is an academic staff member at PROFiL and a certified business trainer specializing in presentation techniques.

Guidelines for the Bavarian University Teaching Certificate:

This course is eligible for the Bavarian University Teaching Certificate (basic level/advanced level) with the following credit units (AE):

  • Area B (presentation and communication): 9 AE
