Learning to Teach through Student–Research–Practice Partnerships in STEM Subjects
MINTerlink is aimed at all students who need to develop practical teaching skills. There is often a lack of opportunities to apply knowledge in authentic yet closely supervised situations during their studies. MINTerlink closes this gap and enables a demand-oriented exchange of knowledge between university and teaching practice in the STEM subjects. Via a web platform, teachers from all types of schools have the opportunity to post support requirements for specific challenges in everyday STEM teaching - from tablet lessons in chemistry to AI project days.
Students can apply for these calls for proposals according to their specialist expertise and interests and develop and implement solutions in the form of an exchange of knowledge together with the teachers and under the guidance of the university lecturers. Problems, solution approaches and their evaluation are made available on the platform for all users to see, so that students can also benefit from the experiences of their fellow students. In addition to a basic curriculum on the pedagogical-psychological foundations of teaching and learning, a wide range of resources are made available on the platform that students can use to develop their practical assignments. In this way, students can link teaching and learning to practically relevant problems and test theory and new research findings directly in practice.
