Research at the Outpatient Center for Psychological Treatment

Our research focuses on the question of why and how mental disorders develop after traumatic experiences and how they can be treated.

Research projects and goals

The research projects at the University Outpatient Center are carried out by scientists from the Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Treatment. Among other things, they deal with the development of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the effectiveness of certain therapeutic methods, and the influence of therapeutic interventions on memories of traumatic experiences. More detailed information on the individual research groups can be found here.

Participation in our research projects

As part of our psychological treatments, diagnostics are generally carried out for research purposes. In addition, our facility conducts time-limited therapy studies on specific issues. The possibility of participating in such a study is discussed in detail with patients in advance.
