Prof. Dr. Beate Schuster has been Professor of Educational Psychology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich since 2006. After studying psychology at the University of Bielefeld, she conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Psychological Research in Munich and at New York University, followed by academic positions at the universities of Kiel, Munich, and Eichstätt.
Her teaching and research focus on behavior, learning, and social interaction in educational settings. She prepares future teachers and school psychologists to understand behavioral difficulties, address conflicts constructively, and foster social competencies. Her current research centers on social exclusion, bullying, and the psychological conditions that enable forgiveness.
