Lecture by Pia Campeggiani (Università di Bologna)
Emotion researchers, James Russell famously said, face a scandal: there is no agreement on what emotion is. Theories differ wildly in their identification of emotion’s defining feature(s).
In this talk, Pia Campeggiani will investigate the nature of definitional disagreements, explore their theoretical assumptions, and offer an alternative approach based on prototype theory and conceptual metaphor theory.
