The VAC's annual celebration event was held in the Great Hall of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich for the first time again.

On July 5, 2023, the VAC's annual celebration event was held in the Great Hall of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich for the first time in many years. It was an excellent opportunity for members to return to their alma mater. The first chairman, Dr. Reiner Krieglmeier, welcomed more than 120 guests and members. The event kicked off with a keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Gabriel Felbermayr titled "Inflation: Here to Stay?" In his talk, he discussed current price developments and shared his outlook for the future.

Following the keynote lecture, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Monika Schnitzer was honored with the 2023 Hans Möller Medal for her contributions to economic research and education. In his laudation, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Joachim Winter, highlighted these achievements. Afterward, the two guests, along with Jakob von Weizsäcker (Minister of Finance and Science, Saarland), engaged in a discussion on the topic "Unloved but Indispensable? The Role of Economics in Political Consulting." The lively panel discussion was moderated by Christine Bergmann (Bayerischer Rundfunk and board member).

The event concluded with the recognition of the 2022/23 ECONnect program participants. Following the official program, the VAC invited its guests to a reception, where lively discussions continued.
