Workshop „Magical Writing“
Explore magical writing practices from an interdisciplinary perspective
The act of writing as well as the use of different writing systems played an important role in the magical practices of premodern societies across cultures. In the workshop 'Magical Writing', we will explore magical writing practices from an interdisciplinary perspective together with Prof. Dr. Stephan Müller. In addition to examples from Middle High German and Old Yiddish, we will discuss runic texts and examples from ancient Mesopotamian culture.
