Early Career Researchers, Principal Investigators and members of the Cluster Office gathered at Kloster Beuerberg in southern Bavaria for an intensive and inspiring retreat dedicated to Cross-Cultural Philology.
During the retreat, members of several Working Groups presented their current research projects, providing insights into the Cluster’s diverse research activities. The presentations covered topics including Commentaries in Global Comparison, Competing Writing Systems, Methods and Practices of Editing, the Epigraphy Task Force, Medieval and Early Modern Courts as Hubs of Textual Migration and Science Communication.
The Cluster’s Digital Humanities team and Publications Office also introduced upcoming projects, including Cross-Cultural Philology: A Living Handbook, a groundbreaking digital resource exploring philological practices across cultures and historical periods.
The retreat provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss ongoing research and strengthen collaboration across the Cluster.
