LMU PLUS

The LMU PLUS program provides students with key practical skills as well as gender and diversity competence through seminars and workshops. The program is primarily funded by student grants.

LMU PLUS: Practice-based learning and studies

Each semester, LMU PLUS offers students at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich a wide range of training opportunities to acquire practical key skills through two program tracks: practical skills (soft skills) and gender and diversity competence.

Participation in the seminars and workshops is intended to support bachelor’s and master’s students from all disciplines and semesters (or those preparing for the first state examination) in their studies and careers.

In small groups, participants work with our instructors to develop various key skills (soft skills), such as effective time management, English conversation, academic writing, and advanced use of Microsoft Excel.

In these cost-free seminars and workshops, our instructors provide information and guidance on topics related to academic studies and careers.

Since a small portion of the courses is designed specifically for female students, you will find information about the target audience for each course.

Gender and diversity competence has become more and more important in recent years and is increasingly required by employers.

Our seminars and workshops raise students’ awareness of the social construction of gender and various forms of discrimination. In the process, they learn practical methods for preventing abuse of power and sexual harassment, and discover, for example, how to integrate gender aspects into quality management processes.

The courses on gender and diversity competence are offered to all students equally and form the basis for earning the Gender Certificate.

The Gender Certificate is awarded by the University Women's Representative as part of the LMU PLUS program. Please look for the note in the course descriptions that says: “This course can be accredited for the Gender Certificate.”

Eligibility Requirements

Please note that doctoral students are not eligible for the LMU PLUS program. The program is intended exclusively for bachelor’s and master’s students, as well as students who have not yet taken their first state examination (teaching, law), and students up to and including the third section of the medical examination in the second stage of medical studies.
