Advanced Training in International and Global Health
The Teaching & Training Unit at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, together with the CIHLMU, is offering a wide range of advanced training courses for students, young scientists, health professionals and multipliers in the field of International and Global Health. Some of the training courses are face-to-face seminars in Munich, others take place online or in one of our partner countries. The aim of the courses is to develop competencies and skills for various research-relevant topics in the field of International and Global Health. They cover a wide range of topics, including modern laboratory skills for infectious disease detection, working with geographic information systems, didactic approaches for teaching health professionals, and the fundamentals of today's climate and food crises.
Advanced Courses
The Teaching & Training Unit at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, in collaboration with the CIHLMU, offers a wide range of advanced training courses for students, early-career scientists, health professionals, and multipliers in the field of International and Global Health.
Courses are delivered in various formats – as face-to-face seminars in Munich, online sessions, or in collaboration with our partner institutions abroad. Each course aims to strengthen participants’ competencies and research-related skills across diverse areas of global health.
Topics include modern laboratory techniques for infectious disease detection, the use of geographic information systems, innovative didactic methods for health education, and key insights into today’s climate and food crises.
These international courses are also open to all LMU students, including those enrolled in the Medical Faculty. Please note that course fees do not apply to registered LMU students. Enrollment is limited and spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Humanitarian Symposium Munich 2024
The topic of the Humanitarian Symposium Munich (HSM) 2024 will be "People with Disability in Humanitarian Crises". It will take place in hybrid format, where in presence as well as online invited speakers will present their work and expertise on the topic throughout a full day program. The speakers will be scholars as well as practitioners from the field of humanitarian aid, development cooperation, and global health. Participants will also be able to join the symposium in presence as well as online.
