Weiterführende Informationen zum Gesamtprogramm werden zeitnah ergänzt.

How climate change connects to your field of study

Climate change is often perceived as a topic for environmental sciences, but in reality, it affects all disciplines and future professions. This co-creative workshop invites students across faculties to explore how climate change connects to their field of study and what this means for university teaching. No prior knowledge is required - curiosity and openness are enough.
Through interactive methods, professional examples, and group work, participants identify entry points where climate-related topics and skills could be integrated into curricula.
Together, we move from real-world challenges to curriculum ideas: Which skills do students need for their future professions? In which courses and formats could these be addressed? The collected ideas will be documented and shared to contribute to sustainability-oriented curriculum development at LMU.
If you would like to share your perspective, contribute ideas, or help shape future learning at LMU, you are warmly invited to take part.

Main benefit / guiding principle:

Participants gain a clearer understanding of how climate change relates to their own discipline and future profession. They develop concrete ideas for integrating climate-related skills into curricula.

Learning objectives:

After the workshop, participants will be able to...

  • recognise the relevance of climate change for their own discipline
  • identify professional entry points for climate-related topics
  • reflect on skills needed for climate-relevant future careers
  • develop ideas for integrating sustainability into curricula
  • collaborate across disciplines in a co-creative setting

Information about the Trainers:

Liviia Panina is a student at the Rachel Carson Center (LMU). Within the FutureTutors, she works with Madison Garrett (Department of Sociology) on integrating climate change into higher education.

Preparation:

No preparation is required. Participants are encouraged to bring curiosity and openness.
If possible, a laptop or tablet can be helpful for interactive elements.
