Nic. Nistor studierte Ingenieurwissenschaften (Elektronik und Telekommunikation) an der Universität „Politehnica“ in Bukarest, promovierte 2000 in Pädagogik an der LMU München und habilitierte sich 2012 ebenfalls an der LMU, wo er 2019 als außerplanmäßiger Professor bestellt wurde. Er lehrt dort Pädagogische Psychologie des Lehrens und Lernens sowie Mediendidaktik in den Studiengängen der Bildungswissenschaft/Pädagogik und des Lehramts. In der Forschung befasst er sich mit der Gestaltung und Evaluation medienbasierter Lernumgebungen, der Akzeptanz von Bildungstechnologien, Online-Communities, Learning Analytics sowie der Medienkompetenz mit Schwerpunkt Fake News. Er ist Mitglied des Munich Center of the Learning Sciences sowie Mitherausgeber (Associate Editor) von „Computers in Human Behavior.“
