Stephan Kielblock takes on position of acting professor of school pedagogy at LMU Munich

He will serve as acting chair of Prof. Dr. Ewald Kiel’s department in the Department of Education and Rehabilitation during the summer semester of 2026.
In his teaching and research, the educational scientist builds on the chair’s longstanding areas of focus, particularly issues related to teacher professionalization, inclusion, and educational participation. At the same time, he brings his own perspectives to the fields of all-day school development and multiprofessional collaboration.
Dr. Stephan Kielblock previously worked at the universities of Oldenburg, Giessen, and Frankfurt, as well as at the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Educational Research and Educational Information in Frankfurt am Main. He gained international research experience at institutions including the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
In his work to date, he has been involved in key research and development projects on school quality and improvement, including the Study on the Development of All-Day Schools (StEG) and “School Makes You Strong” (SchuMaS). He is currently conducting research on school transformation with a focus on democracy education and education for sustainable development.
