When do I need eduVPN?
eduVPN is useful when you need to:
For services such as M365/Outlook, Moodle, Zoom, or Confluence, eduVPN is generally not required.
Profiles in eduVPN
Access to Institute (recommended)
This profile is intended for official use and provides access to the Munich Scientific Network as well as internal LMU services. We recommend using this profile for all work related to your duties at LMU.
Secure Internet
This profile is provided by the DFN and does not offer access to LMU-internal resources. It is therefore not suitable for official tasks.
Using eduVPN in the lrz WLAN
If you use eduVPN via the lrz WLAN, please select a full-tunnel profile to ensure that all connections are routed correctly. For a more stable and reliable connection, we also recommend using eduroam.
