The European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH) is a consortium of leading European universities dedicated to promoting innovative structures in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. Its focus is on global challenges in the areas of health, sustainability, and social responsibility. The alliance offers students, researchers, and staff a wide range of mobility and collaboration opportunities that strengthen international networking and exchange.
Since 2019, LMU Munich, Université Paris-Saclay, Lund University, Universidade do Porto, and the University of Szeged have been successfully collaborating on the EUGLOH project. In January 2023, the new second project phase, “EUGLOH 2.0,” began, with four additional members joining: the Universidad de Alcalá, the Universität Hamburg, the University of Novi Sad, and UIT in Tromsø. Starting in 2027, the University of Amsterdam will join the alliance.
As a founding member, LMU makes a significant contribution to the success of EUGLOH through its broad range of academic disciplines, its international focus, and its research excellence. LMU staff coordinate and oversee various work packages and assist external partners in successfully implementing joint activities.
LMU students and staff have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of subject-specific and interdisciplinary activities and courses offered by universities in the EUGLOH network. You can find the current offerings directly on the EUGLOH website.
At the heart of EUGLOH is the shared goal of offering and developing innovative learning opportunities that not only expand students’ knowledge and skills, but also provide the chance to learn about different cultures and perspectives. The alliance therefore offers a diverse range of courses, workshops, summer schools, seminars, and conferences.
The courses and activities currently available can be found on the EUGLOH website. All LMU students can apply for any of the courses listed there. Participation is generally free of charge. In addition, EUGLOH offers funding to cover associated travel and living expenses for in-person activities. The activities are conducted in various formats: the most common are purely online courses as well as “blended” activities, which consist of both an online and an in-person component.
In addition, EUGLOH-Connect offers students the opportunity to find internships and research opportunities within the alliance.
Select the desired activity on the EUGLOH website and click on the orange registration button. This will open an application form, which you should fill out with your personal information and details about your studies. Additionally, any required documents (e.g., enrollment certificate, motivation letter) can be uploaded. Once completed, you can submit your application.
In principle, you can apply for all (and multiple) activities and participate in more than one. However, some courses require specific prior knowledge (e.g., study program, experience, etc.). Please pay attention to the criteria listed in the activity description before registering.
The host partner university decides on the applications and will notify you via email if your application is accepted.
Almost all EUGLOH formats are conducted in English. A language certificate is not required. In exceptional cases, courses may be offered in other languages (e.g., Spanish); this will always be clearly stated in the activity description.
If you travel to a partner university for a course, you will receive a mobility grant from EUGLOH. This grant is disbursed by the EUGLOH office at LMU.
The mobility grant is a lump sum set by the alliance for each destination and covers travel, accommodation, and living expenses. The amount varies depending on the destination and the duration of the activity.
If you have been selected to participate in a EUGLOH course, please contact eugloh@lmu.de immediately. You will then receive instructions on how to apply for the mobility grant.
You will receive a participation certificate for each activity. Some courses may also offer ECTS credits, which will be indicated in the activity description. Please note that you must always clarify the credit transfer procedures individually with your study program coordinator before participating in the activity.
After successful participation (with at least 75% attendance), the host university will send the certificates via email within a few weeks. The participation certificate is required to receive full mobility funding.
You can reach our team at eugloh@lmu.de, and we will be happy to assist you.

In addition, LMU students have the opportunity to get involved in the EUGLOH Local Student Board (LSB).
The Local Student Board consists of LMU students who wish to actively contribute to the further development of the EUGLOH Alliance. They represent the perspectives of students and contribute in many ways, including by participating in the summits (annual meetings) or by collaborating in work packages (working groups).
