Application procedure
Eligibility
Candidates
- must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China without the right of permanent residence abroad at the time of application,
- must have completed their doctoral studies with a degree from LMU or from a Chinese university which included a research stay at LMU as a LMU-CSC program grant holder,
- need an acceptance letter issued by an academic host at LMU. The acceptance letter should include the duration of the planned research stay as well as a description of the planned research project,
- should have an excellent academic background and hold a research position at a Chinese university or research institution.
Application period
- The application period begins on 1 October and ends on 1 February of the following year.
Application and selection procedure
First step: Candidates submit their applications to LMU. Once you have been selected, LMU's International Office will confirm your eligibility with a nomination to CSC for an LMU-CSC fellowship.
Second step: You then submit all required documents, including LMU's confirmation document, to CSC and complete the entire application process. The final decision about the research grants will be made by CSC.
Please note: LMU's International Office will not forward your application documents to CSC!

Curriculum vitae including publication list
Letter of acceptance from an LMU academic host including the following:
- duration of the planned research stay
- description of the planned research project
- duration of stay at LMU (between 3 and 12 months)
Doctoral degree certificate:
- Certificate of LMU: copy of the original
- Certificate of Chinese university: must be notarized in English or German by the appropriate authority in China
Proof of participation in the LMU-CSC scholarship program as a CSC grant holder
Proof of employment by a Chinese university or research institution
Benefits
