LMU-NYU Research Cooperation Program

The LMU-NYU Research Cooperation Program was established in 2017 and extended in 2022 to promote and support research collaboration between LMU Munich and New York University (NYU).

The LMU-NYU partnership is open to all disciplines and supports joint research projects, workshops, conferences, visiting professorships to LMU, as well as research stays for early-career researchers.

Call for Applications for 2025

The call for applications for the 2025 funding period is now open. Fundable activities: research mobility for doctoral students and early career researchers, workshops and conferences, seed funding for joint projects, and NYU visiting professors at LMU.

NYU and LMU faculty members (Principal Investigators (“PIs”)) are eligible to submit joint proposals. Collaborators from other institutions besides NYU and LMU, subject to an appropriate balance between internal and external researchers, are eligible to participate in projects but are not eligible for any financial support from NYU or LMU.

Detailed information regarding the amount of funding, the funding criteria and required documents can be found in the LMU-NYU Call for Applications 2025 guidelines (PDF, 207 KB).

Application deadline: Sunday, 14 July 2024

Please note that the application documents, which need to be submitted, differ for each research activity.

Moreover, please respect the following instructions for submitting your application:
