• Seed funding for joint projects
• Visiting professorships at LMU for Todai professors

Funding and Networking Opportunities through DWIH Tokyo
The German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) Tokyo is a central platform for German-Japanese exchange in science, research and innovation. It fosters networking between researchers and institutions in both countries, supports the initiation of new collaborations, and enhances the international visibility of German research in Japan.
As an Associate Supporter of DWIH Tokyo, LMU Munich can actively benefit from this network. LMU researchers may apply for DWIH funding to organize scientific events in Japan. Eligible costs include travel, accommodation, catering and interpreting services. The next application deadline is 19 July 2026.

Event Announcement
The symposium "Animal Welfare, One Health and Animal Hoarding", taking place on 12 November 2026, has emerged from the collaboration between LMU Munich and the University of Tokyo and is supported by the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) Tokyo as part of its annual theme "Science for Society." The event is organized by Prof. Dr. Helen Louton, Dr. Caroline Wöhr and Yukari Togami on behalf of LMU Munich, and by Prof. Kazuyuki Uchida on behalf of the University of Tokyo.
