The leader of the THE World Reputation Ranking is Harvard University, followed by MIT, Stanford University and Cambridge University. The current ranking is based on responses to a worldwide survey carried out at the beginning of this year, in which 11,554 academics in 135 countries participated. They were asked to name the institutions they regarded as the best – with respect to the quality of both tuition and research – in their own particular disciplines. The Reputation Ranking reflects the subjective assessments of the global community of scholars and scientists, and constitutes only one of the 12 indicators, which together provide the basis for the THE World University Ranking 2019-20, which will be published later this year.
