STIBET Mentoring Scholarship Program for international doctoral candidates

The STIBET Mentoring Scholarship Program offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports particularly qualified foreign doctoral candidates.

The DAAD has currently suspended the program "STIBET Doktoranden”. Therefore, no scholarships can be awarded. Further information will be provided here on this webpage as soon as the program is re-opened.

Aim

Thanks to these resources we can individually support extraordinarily qualified international doctoral students. The aim is to integrate excellent international doctoral candidates into the international activities of their respective department.

Scholarship type and objective

The International Office awards scholarships for particularly committed doctoral candidates.

The aim of these scholarships is to improve support for foreign students and doctoral candidates by having scholarship students take on support tasks or perform other services conducive to international exchange within their faculty.

Prerequisites

  • The main prerequisite for funding is the commitment of the scholarship student to promoting the department and support in the supervision of international students, e.g. through social and professional mentoring, language tandems, cooperation in cultural programs, field trips, local interest events, support activities in student housing, and language courses, among others.
  • The decisive criterion for a successful application is a candidate's outstanding academic performance.
  • Applicants who receive funding from the DAAD under another program are not eligible to apply.

Application procedure

  • In addition, a current resume and two letters of recommendation from your supervising professors must be included.
