Requirements for Successful DFG & BMFTR Proposals in Medicine

This workshop is aimed at early career researchers at LMU's Faculty of Medicine who are planning submitting a research proposal to the German Research Foundation (DFG) or to the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). Participants should hold a PhD or be close to completing their PhD, and should currently be preparing or planning a research proposal.

Prof. Dr. Eva Grill will discuss key aspects of the application and review process at the DFG and BMBF, highlighting how proposals to these funding bodies differ. She will share her first-hand experience both as a reviewer and as a successful applicant, offering valuable tips for submitting a successful proposal. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about both funding bodies as well as address any challenges they may face in their own application process. Finally, participants will be informed about the services offered by LMU’s Unit for National Research Funding Programs.

Prof. Dr. Eva Grill is Professor for Epidemiology at LMU’s Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry, and Epidemiology. She has extensive experience as both an applicant and reviewer for the DFG and BMFTR, and currently serves as a member of the DFG Review Board for Epidemiology and Medical Biometry/Statistics.

Please note that the event will be held in English and is open to LMU members only.
