Theaters: special performances, price reductions and vouchers

Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz

With a unique profile and a tradition that goes back over 150 years, this theater specializes in popular musical enterntainments, which cover the whole spectrum from opera to operetta, musical and dance. In fact, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz is the only one in Germany that is devoted primarily to this repertoire.

Residenztheater

Munich's Residenztheater is one of Germany's leading playhouses. With three venues in the city, its arresting interpretations of classical and contemporary dramas have had a significant impact on the theatrical scene in Germany for decades.

Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding

The Theaterakademie August Everding is the largest academy of dramatic arts in Germany. The academy offers eight different study programs and three professionally equipped theaters of its own. In addition to its teaching operations, the academy mounts its own productions, which together offer its patrons a varied program that spans all genres – from readings and concerts to grand opera and experimental theater.

Kieser Training

LMU staff members who already suffer from back pain or wish to prevent the condition from developing in the first place can register as members with KIESER TRAINING at a significantly reduced price. Membership includes a detailed introduction to the facilities available, given by a qualified trainer, a medical advice on training schedules, a therapeutic analysis of current back problems and measurements of muscle strength on three training machines.

Fitness First

Fitness First offers LMU employees memberships in its Lifestyle, Platinum and Black Label Clubs throughout the country under favorable conditions. Their immediate relatives (children, spouse, partner living at the same address) may also use Fitness First Clubs under the same terms. LMU employees who are already members of Fitness First have the opportunity to switch to the Fitness First program. If you belong to this category, ask your local club to adjust the terms of your memebership agreement accordingly.

Body Up

"Body Up" utilizes training methods that enhance physical strength, endurance, agility and balance in its five ftness studios located in and around Munich. In addition to taking part in gymnastics sessions, members can make use of saunas, as well as massage and cosmetic services. LMU employees receive special rates in Body Up's studios and can also train in its partner studios AJ's, Ambiance Sports & Spa, Medical Fitness and Cardio Fitness Starnberg.

Job tickets

As employees of the State of Bavaria, LMU staff are entitled to apply for cut-price tickets on public transport systems. The scheme applies to DB Job Tickets, Meridian Job Tickets and IsarCard Job Tickets (MVV).

Charging stations for electric vehicles

LMU is progressively building a network of charging stations for electric vehicles on its campuses. The first of these stations are already in operation.

ShareNow

In another effort to facilitate mobility for its employees, LMU has entered into a formal cooperation with the car-sharing firm ShareNow. The agreement enables LMU staff to register for the service without having to pay the standard fee of 29€, and they receive an initial credit of 5€.
