How easy is it to balance studying and family life? LMU currently offers its students around 500 childcare places at 23 facilities in Munich, Freising, Garching, and Martinsried in close cooperation with the Munich Student Union. The aim is to create conditions that enable students to balance their studies and family life, thereby providing all members of the university with optimal conditions for research, learning, and work.

The LMU Rabauken kindergarten cares for up to 20 kids aged 3 and above. The premises are located near the Old North Cemetery in Maxvorstadt. The first children will be gradually introduced to the kindergarten in November and, if necessary, December/January.

The university kindergarten is located in Leopoldpark in the immediate vicinity of the university and is intended for children aged three to seven. Children of university employees and students are given priority.

Student nurseries and kindergartens
The Munich Student Union currently provides numerous places for children in 21 facilities. The Herzerl Munich daycare center, the daycare center on the Martinsried campus, the Ingeborg Ortner Children's House in Garching, and flexible childcare at Campuskinder are also open to kindergarten children.
At the Campuskinder daycare center, children can also be cared for on a flexible basis with fewer hours.
