Dual Career Service: Strategies for Supporting Global Researchers and their Families
The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) warmly invites you to participate in its Staff Week dedicated to the theme of Dual Career as part of the Erasmus+ Program. This event is designed for university staff from various countries and provides an excellent opportunity to connect internationally, exchange experiences, and learn from best practices in supporting dual career couples.
What to expect?
Our Staff Week is themed “Dual Career Service: Strategies for Supporting Global Researchers and their Families” and features workshops, presentations, and group work addressing how universities can develop effective dual career services. Participants will gain insights into consulting skills, intercultural communication, monitoring and evaluation of dual career offers, and ways to facilitate contacts and networking.

- Workshops on Best Practices: How other universities establish and manage dual career services
- Training on Consulting Skills: Individual career planning for dual career partners
- Intercultural Communication Workshop: Raising awareness in the dual career context
- Dual Career Testimonials: Personal experiences of challenges and successes, offering insights to improve support services.
- Cultural Christmas experience: Immerse yourself in the cozy atmosphere of Munich’s Advent festivities, including guided tours of the city’s historical landmarks and its famous Christmas market.
Why participate?
This training week is aimed at staff involved in International Offices, Human Resources, Dual Career Services, and Academic Support Staff who wish to develop or enhance dual career programs at their institutions.
Target Audience
This Staff Training Week is open to all those who support international researchers, especially those working in Welcome Desk Services, International Offices, Human Resources (HR), and Research Departments. The program is particularly valuable for staff willing to actively participate in workshops or present projects from their institution.

Please note that you must enquire with your home University whether you are eligible for Erasmus+ funds. LMU can only sign the Mobility Agreement.
