International Staff Training Week by LMU Gateway & Dual Career Service: Strategies for Supporting Global Researchers and their Families

The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) warmly invites you to participate in its International Staff Training Week focused on supporting International Researchers and their families. This program is designed for university staff from various countries and offers an excellent opportunity to make international contacts, exchange ideas, and benefit from the experiences of other universities' staff members.

What to expect?
Our International Staff Training Week provides a platform to explore strategies for improving support for international scientists, doctoral candidates and their families. The program includes workshops and presentations focused on promoting intercultural awareness and sharing best practices for integrating international researchers into academic environments. Participants will also gain insights into consulting skills, monitoring and evaluation of Dual Career Service offers, and ways to facilitate contacts and networking. This will offer participants opportunities to enhance their services of their home universities and explore new ways to support the success and integration of both international researchers and their families.

Program Highlights

  • Intercultural Awareness Workshop: Engage in practical exercises and discussions to enhance your understanding of cultural differences and improve your ability to support international researchers effectively.
  • Testimonials: Hear from current international researchers and staff about their experiences and challenges, providing valuable perspectives to improve your practices.
  • Dual Career Service: Presentation about the service through which partners of international researchers receive support in searching suitable job offers at their new location.
  • Cultural activities: Experience Munich’s history and culture through organized tours and visits.
