On Friday, 3 July 2026, it will once again be time to put the boats out on the Olympic Lake! When the LMU and TUM teams compete against each other: it’s not just about speed: Imaginative and creative boat design and costumes are also key.
The traditional “Master of the Olympic Lake” dragon boat race will take place for the 15th time this year. LMU President Professor Matthias Tschöp has assumed patronage of the event.
The 15th dragon boat race between LMU and TUM kicks off on at 4 p.m. on 3 July 2026 on the Olympic Lake in Munich’s Olympic Park. Fans can cheer loudly along the entire course, but the action will be centered around the Theatron stage area.
