What kind of digital access promotes education that facilitates greater social justice, and what role does language play in this context?
In collaboration with the Chair of General Pedagogy and Educational Research and the International Research Center for Multilingualism, the Institute for German as a Foreign Language invites you to the interdisciplinary lecture series “Multilingualism and (social) justice: Digital access for sustainable educational processes”.
Education should offer equal opportunities to all children and young people, regardless of their linguistic background or origins. But how can this be achieved? And how can digital media be used effectively to overcome real educational barriers? These questions are at the heart of our series, which brings together research, practice and digital innovation.
Together with experts from the fields of linguistics, computational linguistics, psychology, educational science and educational research, we explore how linguistic diversity can be leveraged as a resource and how educational processes can be made more equitable and sustainable.
As part of the series, Professor Detmar Meurers (IWM Tübingen/University of Tübingen) will give a lecture entitled “What kind of digital access promotes education that facilitates greater social justice, and what role does language play in this context?”.
The lecture series is funded by the LMU Sustainability Fund.
