An evening lecture by Dr. Barbara Winckler (Münster) as part of the 24th Media Workshop, organized by the Institute of Near and Middle Eastern Studies on the subject of “Discourses, spaces and languages in Palestinian literature. From the early patriotic poetry of the 1930s to contemporary prose and poetry from and about Gaza”.
Barbara Winckler’s work concerns modern Arabic literature and intellectual and cultural history in the modern age. On these topics, she engages with a broad audience beyond the confines of higher education. Her research focuses primarily on borderline and threshold phenomena, gender studies, mediality and intermediality, cultural contact between East and West since the early 19th century, as well as debates and cultures of debate in literature, art and the periodical press.
