Opening hours / Beginning:

Thu:
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

16 January 2025

Venue:

Room B006 (ground floor) Geschwister-Scholl-Platz 1 80539 München

How do you resolve your problems? Not by going to a Bavarian authority, that is for sure! This is one lesson that the protagonist in Shahid learns very quickly. Maybe a psychologist might be more helpful? Or even a revolver, perhaps? And how do you deal with the fact that your own film team envies you for precisely the problems you want to be rid of?

Shahid, a film that has won multiple awards, portrays the struggles of a German-Iranian as she fights with the spirits of her past and present. It also shows a life in which singing is better than sighing as a way to survive.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Munich film director Narges Kalhor and her co-author Aydin Alinejad, who works at LMU.

Moderation: Sarah Kiyanrad
