Neurotechnology meets Artificial Intelligence

Opening hours / Beginning:

30 June 2022 - 1 July 2022

Venue:

Institute of Ethics, History and Theory of Medicine Lessingstr.2 80336 München

Can artificial intelligence (AI) be used for moral enhancement? From a philosophical perspective, is voicing your opinion the same as moving your arm? And to what extent is intelligent neurotechnology epistemically inequitable?

These and many other questions will be discussed at the conference entitled "Neurotechnology meets Artificial Intelligence 22: Epistemology, Justification, Control, Shared Agency" (NTMAI-22). Top-class contributions will explore the philosophical, ethical and legal dimensions of the latest developments in neurotechnology and artificial intelligence. Plenty of room will be left for a thorough discussion of the ideas and arguments presented by speakers from Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.

The event will be held (with physical attendance) from 30 June to 1 July 2022 at LMU Munich’s Institute of Ethics, History and Theory of Medicine. The organizers are Andreas Wolkenstein (LMU Munich), Professor Orsolya Friedrich and Sebastian Schleidgen (FernUni Hagen [Germany’s State Distance-Learning University]), Professor Tom Buller (Illinois State University) and Dr. Christoph Bublitz (Universität Hamburg [University of Hamburg]) & the Hybrid Minds Group.

The conference will be held in English. The agenda and additional information are posted on the event website.
