Globally, it is estimated that Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) cause 534 000 deaths and a loss of 57 million disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) annually. WHO estimates that over 1.7 billion of the world’s population should be targeted by prevention and treatment activities for at least one of these diseases, every year. To raise awareness of this important issue, CIHLMU Ph.D. and Master's students will host this symposium titled "One Health Approach to Neglected Tropical Diseases".

The symposium is intended for students, scientists, researchers, medical professionals, and policy makers and aims to provide an international and interdisciplinary platform for a discussion that focuses on a One Health approach to fight against NTD’s. It will be composed of four distinct talks and two panel discussions, where participants will have the opportunity to interact with highly experienced speakers and with each other.

A registration is required. You can find more information on the website of the event.
