Quantum cryptography – The key to secure communication

Opening hours / Beginning:

Thu:
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

12 March 2026

Venue:

ERES Foundation Römerstraße 15 80801 München

Professor Harald Weinfurter (LMU Munich) will deliver a lecture on quantum cryptography at the ERES Foundation on 12 March.

Based in Munich, the ERES Foundation fosters dialogue between science and the fine arts. Its current exhibition, Seeing the Unseen – Quantum physics and art as entangled worlds, was developed in collaboration with the cluster of excellence Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST).

For the first time, quantum cryptography provides a tap-proof way to generate secret keys for secure communication. Commercial systems are now available that, in combination with conventional encryption devices, guarantee secure message transmission at high speeds.

Prior registration is required. For further information, please visit the MCQST website.
