Organist Angela Metzger, winner of multiple accolades, will play the White Rose Organ in the LMU atrium – the place where the White Rose distributed leaflets for the last time. Florian Lange, John Ragner and Hannes Tillian, drama students at the August Everding Theater Academy, will read texts penned by and about the White Rose.

The organ was installed in the atrium in 1960 as an acoustic monument to the White Rose resistance movement. After standing unused for decades, it was restored in 2013 and has, since 2014, resumed its function as an instrument of commemoration.

The concert will include the world premiere of a work by Teresa Henselmann: “White Leaves” is the abridged version of a major work for symphony orchestras in which the composer grapples with the values of democracy: freedom, justice, responsibility, conscience and human dignity. In addition, Angela Metzger will play works by Johann Sebastian Bach and César Franck.

Tickets are free.
