The focus of the workshop „Multi-Word Units in Multilingual Contexts – how to use our knowledge of chunks, formulaic language etc. in learning and teaching contexts“ is on leveraging insights from cognitive and psycholinguistic research on multi-word units within language acquisition environments.
Particular attention is paid to multilingual learners, whose language varieties effectively demonstrate which linguistic forms are not only easy to process but also quick to store. These insights also shed light on the extent to which constructions in cognitive processes like transfer can be influenced.
The objective of the event is to encourage scientific exchange among linguists and foster connections between researchers, educators, and students in teacher education programs. The first block (November 30th all day and December 1st morning) will present current research findings on multi-word units in learning and teaching contexts, while the second block (afternoon of December 1st) is dedicated to Third-Mission activities.
Registration is desired. All lectures will be conducted in English, with the exception of the workshops on Friday afternoon. Further information can be found on this website.
