Wonders of Science: Under this heading, leading Munich scientists will share their thoughts on their chosen disciplines in the course of this summer semester.
They will do so in addresses from the pulpit at a series of worship services in the University’s Protestant church. They will explore how people’s ability to wonder, admire and be astonished – and how wonders themselves – affect the world of science. How do these things help humans to excel ourselves? To what horizons of discovery and interpretation do they lead?
A wide range of disciplines – including astrophysics, biophysics, archaeogenetics, medicine, psychology, philosophy and theology – will be represented.
This Sunday’s address will be delivered by Professor Petra Schwille.
